The
Aquamatic Aquacell S2 Stationary Samplers are 120/240 VAC powered
samplers which extract individual sample shots from a wastewater
channel, manhole or vessel according to a preconfigured program and
deposits them into one or more sample collection vessels providing a
representative sample of the wastewater discharge.
The S2 Samplers come in a variety of configurations. Each sampler
can be used in conjunction with 1x 25L; 1 x 10L; 12 x 0.7L; 12 x 1L;
or 24 x 1L containers. Container materials include glass,
polyethylene and polypropylene.
The S-2 Sampler can be connected to external devices such as a flow
meter, pump signal, datalogger or SCADA system. This allows
event-based sampling routines to be programmed. The Aquacell’s built in event
logger and optional temperature logger data can be downloaded to PC via
RS232 or TCP/IP, RS485 and others with optional converters from INC
Technical. Call us for more options.
Aquacell - The
SystemEmbodied in every
Aquacell wastewater sampler is the tried and tested
Aquamatic Air Pump Sample Extraction
System. The sampler is operated / programmed using the 17
button membrane keypad in conjunction with a 16 x 2 character liquid
crystal display.
- High Performance - Whether
portable or stationary the performance is the same. All Aquacell
samplers are designed to sample heavily contaminated wastewater
such as crude sewage reliably. Aquacell is even used to sample raw
sewage sludge.
- Easy to use and maintain –
Everything about the Aquacell is designed to minimize operator
burden. Even users with no previous experience of wastewater
sampling will soon become fully proficient in operating the
Aquacell.
- Reliability assured – With
minimal moving parts and vulnerable electrical / electronic parts
protected within a sealed humidity controlled enclosure, the
Aquacell is designed to operate reliably for many years even in
the most arduous conditions.
- Compliance - Aquacell meets
the requirements of the international standard for wastewater
samplers – ISO 5667-10.
Also available are the
Aquacell P2 Portable Sampler range. |

NOTE: S2
STATIONARY SAMPLERS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY THE NEW STATIONARY SERIES.
PLEASE VIEW THE NEW S100, S200 AND S300 SAMPLERS HERE.
There are four main configurations of
the S-2 Samplers.. |
| |
|
|
|
 |
|
S2-W - Wall
mounted sampler for indoor or outdoor use.
The sampler incorporates a container suspended beneath the sampler
and is instantly accessible. This is the simplest of the Aquacell
S2-W configurations. The sampler has a lockable front cover. |

|
|
S2-R - Floor
standing sampler incorporating sample refrigeration, for heated
indoor use.
Both the sampler module and the refrigerated sample container
housing are lockable. |
 |
|
S2-K - Floor
mounted kiosk-based sampler for indoor or outdoor use.
Note:This model does not have any frost protection.
S2-KH - Floor mounted kiosk-based sampler
for indoor or outdoor use.
The Aquacell S2-KH incorporates a fan circulated heater to provide
frost protection for stored samples. |
 |
|
S2-RK - Floor
mounted kiosk-based sampler incorporating sample refrigeration, for
heated indoor use.
S2-RK32 - Floor mounted kiosk-based sampler
incorporating sample refrigeration, for indoor or outdoor use
(includes frost protection).
The Aquacell S2-RK32 features temperature conditioning and is fully
compliant with the International Standards for wastewater samplers
ISO 5667-10 and the UK Environment Agency specification E32,
Automatic Sampling Equipment for the Urban Waste Water Treatment
Regulation. |

Optional Ancillary
Signal Connections
- Remote control input
The sampler can be controlled using a signal from a pump
(which pumps the wastewater) or other device such as SCADA or
controller, which produces an event related signal.
- Flow Input
Any flowmeter with either an integrated or instantaneous flow
output can be connected to the sampler to produce flow
proportional samples.
- Sample Acquired Output
A contact closes each time a sample enters the sampler.
- Sampler Malfunction Output
A contact opens each time any one of 11 fault conditions
occur.
- Optional computer interface
Aquacell’s built in event/data logger and temperature logger
(if the sample temperature monitoring option is ordered) can be
downloaded to your PC or suitable hand held computer if you
specify the RS232 interface with the sampler. Please
contact us regarding TCP/IP, RS485 and other communication
protocols. 16 events relating to the samplers operation are logged
including:
• Program start / stop
• Individual samples time
• Time when bottler (if fitted) is incremented
• Fault conditions time

Why the “air pump” and not the “peristaltic pump” sample extraction
system? |
|
Subject |
Aquacell "air pump" sampler |
Typical "peristaltic pump" sampler |
|
Sample tract |
12mm (~1/2 ") intake increasing progressively to
5/8" hose and then outlet - good blockage resistance |
9.5mm (3/8") |
|
Visibility of Sample tract |
Almost entirely visible so you can watch
the sampling process taking place. |
Much of the sample tract is invisible. |
|
Pump |
No contact with sample media |
Sample media passes through pump. Sharp
solids have the potential to puncture the pump tube and disable the
sampler. |
|
Sample Volume |
Absolutely consistent |
Variable with:
- Pump speed
- Supply voltage
- Lift height
- Degree of pump tube wear
- Temperature |
|
Sample media tolerance |
Operates OK on sewage sludge |
See "Sample tract" above |
|
Maintenance / Tube Replacement |
Occasionally clean sample chamber |
Replace sample tube |
